Transportation: Golden Ears Bridge
The Golden Ears Bridge opened up in mid-2009, and is the first electonic toll bridge in Western Canada.
It speeds traffic between Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge on the north bank of the Fraser with the communities of Langley and Surrey and the south bank, which used to require a ferry. This beautiful 6-lane cable stayed bridge across the Fraser includes 14 km of access roads, connecting the #7 Lougheed highway with the #1 Trans-Canada Highway.
